Pocket-Sized Video Cams

My son seems to be growing up faster than ever. Everyday there’s a new word, a funny expression, a little dance. I keep thinking about buying a digital video camera but until now they have been so expensive — and I take a zillion photos with my camera anyway.
If you’re not a huge video enthusiast but want to capture special moments when out and about, the Flip Ultra looks like it has the goods. It’s been described as “one of the most significant electrical products of the year” by The New York Times and is billed as the world’s simplest video camera.
Powered by just two AA batteries, the Flip Ultra has a built-in USB arm that plugs straight into your computer so you can share files instantly on email or YouTube. And for those who like their products pretty as well as functional it comes in five colours so you can match it to your iPod.
The downside? It’s not available in Australia yet. The Creative Vado is, and is supposedly similar in looks and functionality, but Gizmodo’s Nick Broughall tells me the Flip is much better quality.
Why not harass the Flip’s manufacturer, Pure Digital Technologies, for an Australian release.
