Family On the Run Free to Return Home

The family on the run after the parents refused to let their newborn daughter be injected with the hepatitis B vaccine are now free to return home, after child protection officers decided not to take further action against them.
As the first stage of vaccination had to completed by this morning for it to be effective, doctors could offer no research to convince a judge to continue pursuing the family.
So basically, the child still has a 5 to 40 per cent chance of contracting hepatitis B from its mother. 30 per cent of people with hepatitis B will develop cancer or cirrhosis and die young. Even though their other child hasn’t been vaccinated, she has not been screened for the disease either. If you ask me these people are in some serious denial over the health risks of hepatitis.
Meanwhile, anti-vaccination groups are seeing the as the thin edge of the wedge. They believe it is another move towards making vaccination compulsory. The anti-vaccination group Australian Vaccination Network supported the family, even setting up a charity bank account for well-wishers to deposit money into . The group sent e-mails to natural parenting forums asking for donations.
I guess with the family allowed home, such donations will not be necessary. Let’s hope both kids are safe and well.
