Nicole Kidman Plays Transsexual

Posted by Karl Erikson at 10:00 AM on November 11, 2008

Nicole Kidman is in New York City promoting her new epic action adventure movie, "Australia." She was seen in the West Village Sunday with a friend before heading back to her hotel. But it's really not her latest film making news. It's her upcoming role that's turning heads.

Nicole is in talks to play Einar Wegener, the world's first post-op transsexual. "The Danish Girl" is based on the true story of Danish artists Einar and Greta Wegener, a married couple in the early 1930's who stunned Europe with their amazing transformation.

And who would be costarring with Nicole, playing Greta? That would be Charlize Theron, who has made remarkable transformations for film before. Ever see "Monster?" That almost turned me off lesbians for good.
