We had to keep the house quite for him to have uninterrupted sleep during day time. Night time wasn't a major problem since he is too tired and the house is quite anyway. He started going to child care when he is nearly 3 years old and to my surprise he started to sleep through. Hopefully your child will grow out of it too. I too had the same problems and set about developing Sleep Nurse for this very reason. It's not only a sleep aid that will help with masking external noise for your bub but it should comfort him too.
