The Real Star Of Australia

Meet Brandon Walters. He had never acted before his debut in epic film Australia but now may be set for an Oscar!
The 13-year-old Aboriginal actor would make history as the nation’s youngest Academy Award nominee if voters give him the nod for a best supporting Oscar nomination for his role as Nullah.
The Los Angeles Times cited Walters on a list of performers likely to earn their first Oscar nod, while Daily Variety awards season expert Robert Abele said Walters was a possibility to be among the film’s likely swag of nominations.
“If it’s a powerful and popular enough performance, young Aboriginal actor Brandon Walters could get noticed as well,” he said.
Brandon grew up in a remote West Australian town and survived leukaemia at age seven. He is very keen to go to the U.S, saying, “It’s my dream to go to America. I have to wait and see.”
But in a rare measure of restraint when it comes to child stars, cast and crew of Australia plan refuse to be drawn on the speculation, refusing to allow the media to interview the young star.
Go Brandon! I would love to see a young Aboriginal kid on the Oscars stage.
