Eww… Groping Santa Used To Promote Morning After Pill

It’s no surprise that there’s always a mini baby boom in August and September – products of the Christmas Shag. All that champagne and good cheer goes to one’s head and next thing you know, Adam from accounts is looking like a worthy contender for your babydaddy.

The British Pregnancy Advisory Service has put out a creepy new ad, above, to help prevent such accidental pregnancies. They say women and girls should ensure they have the morning-after pill in their medicine cabinet, in the same way as they would have headache pills or hangover remedies, and intend to hand out emergency contraception ‘gift kits’.

Of course, the usual suspects (*cough* religious organisations *cough*) are against the ad, claiming that it implies Christmas is just about booze and sex and that providing free contraception will just encourage risky sex and exchange of STDs.

Personally I’ve never understood the contraception=promiscuity argument, my only issue with the ad is that it’s creepy. I saw Santa doing WHAT to mummy underneath the mistletoe?
