Katie Holmes: Seeing Through Suri’s Eyes

Posted by Karl Erikson at 12:15 PM on December 9, 2008

Katie Holmes says the key to happiness is remaining focused on family and work, then shutting out the rest of it. "I'm a mum and an actress," says Katie, "with a play to do every night. I can't pay attention to all that noise." Ever since moving to New York City for her Broadway debut – "All My Sons" – Katie says "you can't really sneak in anywhere like you can in L.A.," noting the lack of underground parking. Paparazzi are everywhere, especially with the fame of her husband, Tom Cruise.

But Katie loves NYC, especially now that she has 2-1/2-year-old daughter, Suri. "Try to see New York through Suri's eyes," she says. "She goes to music class and for walks in Central Park." Suri even has her own gymnastics gym. Tom took over an apartment in their building and converted it so she'd have one-on-one time with the teacher. Gee, that's not spoiling your kid in the least.
