Kate Winslet on Son’s Name Change

Another celebrity baby wants to have his name changed. First Shiloh Jolie-Pitt, and now Kate Winslet's son, Joe Alfie, who turns 5 next week.  Kate, 33, revealed on Monday's "Tonight Show" appearance that Joe will only respond to the name "Traiver" these days. He accidentally created the name while looking for his "trainers," aka sneakers.

Kate said, "He turns to me and says, 'My name is not Joe, okay? So just don't call me that anymore. That's why I've changed it to Traiver. But you can call me Traiver, or Traive.' I said, 'Okay, that's really cool, Traiver, how do you spell that?' It was so sweet."

Guess it's a good thing he wasn't looking for dog poop instead of his trainers.

Kate also said that both kids – she also has 8-year-old daughter Mia Honey – believe strongly in Father Christmas. And she wasn't sure if the kids were watching so she was very firmly on the side of Santa. Jay Leno asked if the wrapping paper ever raised suspicion with the children and Kate said, no, "the gift wrap in the North Pole is so completely different. You can't get the same gift wrap in the North Pole that you'd get in London or New York or wherever else you might be."

And for Joe, who is a Christmas baby (with a birthday of December 22), he'll be getting a few more gifts. Kate makes sure that Joe – er, Traiver – gets a separate birthday party with separate presents each year.

Mia is Kate's daughter with ex-husband Jim Threapleton. Joe/Traiver is her son with director Sam Mendes. Kate has a couple of movies hitting the cinema in the coming weeks: "Revolutionary Road" and "The Reader."
