They Say: Duh…Common Chemicals Lower Fertility

When a woman is having difficulty getting regnant there can be many factors to pin the blame on, age, health, timing…now you can also point the finger at your shirt, couch, carpet and maybe even your conditioner, although many have been wagging a digit at this cause for while.
According to HealthDay News, a new study claims that pefluorinated chemicals that are widely used in “food packaging, pesticides, clothing, upholstery, carpets and personal care products, may delay pregnancy.”
The good news? These chemicals are currently being ‘phased out’ in the U.S.. The bad news? They won’t stop being used until 2010 and the chemicals can stay in the environment and sadly, our bodies for decades.
It’s no surprise that the enviorment and modern chemicals affect everyone’s health, but the wide breadth of the perfluorinates is what’s scary. At least it was identified and its’ use is being curbed. We only have to wait a year for them not to be used, now we just have to wait a couple decades to get them out of our bodies.
