Octuplet Mum Launches Donation Website

What do you do when you have fourteen mouths to feed, mounting hospital bills and no income? You start a website! Nadya Suleman, the mother of the uber-famous octuplets, has just launched a donation portal to assist her and her extremely large brood.

Generally when families have litter sized deliveries, oodles of corporations, local businesses and the people down the street step forward to basically sponsor the babies with gifts of nappies, formula, toys and cash. But Nadya has gotten pert near nada. Is it the economy or is it because she has, as she states, an “unconventional family”. Corporations have steered clear of associating their brands with such a controversial figure. Bill Handel, a conservative radio talk show host, even called for a boycott of any companies that stepped in to help the family.

Seeing that the consumer companies haven’t come calling (except a donation from Prince Lionheart and a nappy company that remains unnamed), Nadya is taking matters into her own hands. Someone on her behalf, has started the Nadya Suleman Family website. The one page site features photos of each octuplet, a baby bottle, blocks, hearts and hey, even a rainbow.

Suleman is reportedly $US50,000 in debt, has no real income and has an ungodly amount of hospital bills and living expenses. There has been much criticism of who will be paying for hospital bills and upbringing. Fellow citizens have voiced their anger over the idea that the fiscal responsibility will fall onto the state of California, with tax payers footing the bill. Maybe just maybe, that burden will be offset by an appeal directly to the people.
