Most Adorable Rockin’ Babies

When Paste Magazine composed a list of the ten cutest babies on album covers, a bold decision was made. Blogger Rachael Maddux purposely omitted Nirvana’s Nevermind, the most memorable record ever with an infant on its cover. Her logic?
“Nirvana’s Nevermind was disqualified for sheer over-exposure –
of the album cover, not the baby’s you-know-what — and also because,
eh, only moderately adorable.” Okay, I can roll with that, although I do offer my apologies to Spencer Elden, the young man formerly known as the Nirvana baby (and who, for the record, was certainly a cute enough kid).
With that said, here are the two Paste honourees that kinda give me the creeps and the one that strikes me as the cutest of the bunch:
Creepy Baby Album Cover No. 1 on Paste’s List: Shakira’s Oral Fixation, Vol. 2 (above)
Why is that child in a tree? Where are his/her legs? And shouldn’t Shakira at least let the kid look at the apple, even if the babe doesn’t have the teeth to take a bite?
Creepy Baby Album Cover No. 2 on Paste’s List: Radiohead’s Pablo Honey
I like Radiohead and all. But this cover reminds me a lot of Anne Geddes. And Anne Geddes gives me a grade-A, hardcore case of the willies.
Cutest Baby Album Cover on Paste’s List: Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter III
I’m not necessarily an advocate for infant tattoos and pinky rings. But you can’t deny that Lil Wayne — yes, that’s really him as a tyke — was a super-cute baby.
