“Use the force, Luuuuuke…”

Now your little padawan can test the strength of their own force with this quite incredible new toy by Uncle Milton.

The Force Trainer comes with a headset which measures your freakin’ brainwaves for clarity and concentration. If you are emitting the right alpha and beta waves a ball in a remote training tower will mysteriously rise, powered only by your mind! (And a few AA batteries).

Various tricks with the ball are prompted via Jedi voice commands from the tower.

The product is still in prototype mode but is due to be launched in Australia this July, with an RRP of approximately $AU150. The headset may need some work – while I witnessed other fairgoers successfully demo the product, the sensors were having trouble attaching correctly to my head and neck, perhaps because of long hair. Amusing photo below provided for your benefit.

Still, once the niggly issues are resolved this has the potential to be a whole lot of fun for families, geeks and collectors.

I had a great time at toy fair as well…got some pretty good video of this thing in action. Is it worth the price??? Well, if it calms my kid down enough to stop him jumping off the walls and ceiling just before bed time(i.e. trying to produce the Alpha and Beta waves is suppose to have a calming effect)…then potentially YES!!!
