Wedding Bells & Babies: Reese And Jake Engaged!

Cute couple Reese Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhaal have some news – they’re engaged! Jake got down on one knee, presented Reese with a “gorgeous” ring and she said, “Yes!”

According to sources, the couple wanted to keep the engagement a secret but that’s been difficult. Reese, who was recently at Sony Studios in Culver City, was wearing her ring and an eyewitness said, “It was gorgeous, and everyone noticed it right away.

“But she took it off as soon as she saw people staring. Reese stuffed it in her bag and didn’t put it on again the rest of the day.”

Another source said, “There was already word out that she and Jake had gotten engaged, so the ring absolutely confirmed everybody’s suspicions.”

Reese recently spoke of her divorce from Ryan Phillippe, whom she has two children, saying it was “very humiliating and very isolating,” and she didn’t want to think about another marriage, but things have changed and she’s in love with Jake and called him “a fantastic guy.” And Jake is wonderful with Reese’s kids, which obviously, would be very important to any mom.

Witherspoon would like an intimate and simple wedding and maybe even an informal Southern barbeque.

“Jake and Reese want to get married sooner rather than later,” added the source. “They’ve been playing house for far too long, and they’re ready to make it official.”

If true, congrats! And you know what comes after the announcement, and wedding – babies. Oh yes, we’ll be on bump watch!
