Ashlee & Pete: It’s Over So Soon?

Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz were married May 17, 2008 and welcomed their first child, son Bronx, four months ago and things seemed like they were going well for the musical couple. However, according to sources, their marriage is on the rocks and “just isn’t working.”
Simpson and Wentz attended the 2009 MTV Australia Awards Friday night and seemed happy enough. They appeared to be more in love than ever and were all smiles and sunshine.
But, things aren’t always what they seem. A friend said, “Ashlee thinks Pete doesn’t pay her enough attention and is out partying too much. He needs to work on their marriage more.”
Another pal dished, “Ashlee is feeling a bit neglected [by Pete] in recent weeks… Pete does seem kind of bored lately, and he doesn’t talk about Ashlee like he used to. The gushing has stopped.”
A lot of new parents go through this – trying to get into a new routine once the baby comes, and sometimes forgetting to pay attention to their relationship as a couple.
The friend added, “Ashlee and Pete are on the rocks. He is going out all the time and she’s stuck at home. It’s just not working.”
Ashlee feels like all she’s doing is changing nappies and doing feedings, while Pete is out having fun.
Perhaps they should make time for each other, and Ashlee should get out with friends and let Pete take over with Bronx once in a while! Hopefully they’ll make it work – having a baby changes a lot and you really have to find time to remember you’re a couple too.
