Toy Parrot Utters String of Obscenities

Australian Post Posted by Amber Robinson at 12:10 PM on May 5, 2009

An English mother was horrified after the toy parrot she bought for her five year old daughter unleashed a torrent of abuse.

Instead of parroting: “What’s yer name?” or “Polly wants a cracker”, the foul-mouthed bird squawked: “I’m going to rip you head off and s*** down your neck.”

Oh dear. It finished off with the charming phrases “b****r off” and “up your bum”.

The stuffed bird was bought from a bargain store, in the toy section.

However, Nigel Peckham, director of The 99p Store, a nationwide chain, said the product was designed for adults and was clearly labelled as not suitable for children.

Do you read labels on all your kid’s toys?
