Matthew Broderick “Nervous” About Twins

Sporting some awesome Elvis-impersonator sideburns, Matthew Broderick stopped by the Late Show to talk with David Letterman about the twins he and SJP are expecting later this summer via a surrogate.
“Yeah, I’m ready. You know, I’ve asked people, ‘What’s it like to have twins?’ One father said, ‘I don’t recommend it,’” quips Broderick — currently starring in The Philanthropist on Broadway. “But the rest have been very positive.”
Matthew and Sarah Jessica’s 6-year-old son James is apparently looking forward to getting some siblings, and according to Broderick, James already has some recommendations for how to prepare for the twin girls.
“He said, ‘We have to get a lot of princess toys.’”
That’s probably not a bad start, and like many fathers, it sounds like Matthew’s probably going to need some help getting mentally prepared to have twin daughters.
“Oh man, I’m nervous just even thinking about it.”
Why do dads always feel more nervous about having daughters? Matthew doesn’t really seem like the overprotective type or anything.
Do mothers have more anxiety when they find out they’re pregnant with sons rather than daughters?
