Jon & Kate Plus 8’s Record Breaking Premiere

Posted by Trix at 9:15 AM on May 28, 2009

If you watched the season premiere of Jon & Kate Plus 8, you were not alone.

Episode I of Season 5 opened with a bang, though Kate's sister urged us not to watch, just under 10 million did. It was the most watched episode ever.

The 9.8 million almost doubled the 4.6 million that tuned in for the Season 4 finale. Criminy!

What does this mean for the show? Surely it means this season is safe and I'm guessing another season is in the works. Those poor kids, they need a little time to grow up away from the camera or they are going to want to change their names when they get older.

I'm happy to say I didn't watch. If you did watch, did you feel like you needed to shower after you watched?

I think john is an ass and he is rude how is he qoinq to leave her with allk those children that is ridiculous

  • lyn fanning says:

I know it must be very hard to raise 8 kids and I know Kate works hard but she is rude and a bit of a bully towards John, if my partner spoke to me the way she talks to him I would slap his face, watching the episode where she yells at him in a shop was terrible, I was so embarassed for him, I don’t know how he is with her away from the cameras but he needs to grow balls and tell her where to get off.

I think its very sad for both of them, but we all must just remember about the children.

I’ve been a fan of the show since it began. I do see that Kate needs to speak to Jon more kindly. OR Jon needs to confront Kate kindly & tell her how he feels when she speaks to him rudely. My husband & I have been married over 32 yrs. & there’s no way either of us would allow the other to get away with talking to the other the way Kate speaks to Jon! She can be very nice in her mannerisms toward Jon, but anyone who watches the show & is reading this, knows what I’m talking about!
I’m very saddened by Jon & Kate’s marital problems…whatever they are! I do not read the tabloids! They are a bunch of trash, gossip & slander for the most part (I know this because I did read them along time ago, unfortunately!). I believe the Gosselin family needs our prayers & support during this time! Just as if this were ourselves or a member of our own families! This is what I am doing & will continue to do. I pray God’s will be done in this situation. Whatever did or did not happen, is no ones business except the Gosselins! They need their space to heal & work this out. I pray you can work this out. Remember, God does not intend for us to get a divorce… marriage is supposed to be “until death do us part.” You did renew your vows last season…think about that! God bless the 10 of you!

    In Christian Love,

John committed adultry. Period. He is scum no matter how mean people think Kate is. John is just plain down right wrong! He let his little head disctate to his big head! What a creep he is…like many men that have creeped out before him. Creep, creep, creep. don’t let the door hit ya where the good lord split ya, John!

Everybody needs to stop and think about it, unless you have 8 young children (not to mention 6 of the same age) than you possibly can not understand how difficult and stressful it would be for them. We shouldn’t judge nobody’s perfect and they definetly don’t have it easy! They are doing a better job than alot of other parents.

  • Stephanie says:

I love Jon and Kate plus 8 the TV show. I find it a fantastic source for me to obtain tips on how to raise my large family. It has been a big help in the way that I organise things and how I have set up our routine.

I do feel sorry for the family over recent months due to what has been said about them. If it’s true or not, it’s their business – not ours. They should be left alone to deal with such issues in private. Just because they are in the public eye because of their TV show doesn’t mean that they should be all the time – especially when thinking of the topics that have made headlines recently.

I wish them all the best and think that they do an amazing job.

    Steph xo
