No, this isn’t the synopsis for a Simpsons episode starring Otto Mann.
It’s a nightmarish incident that happened on May 28 in Blacktown, Sydney.
It’s alleged that the busdriver took the wrong route and then realising he was late, drove up to 25 kids to Westpoint Shopping Centre and then kicked them off the bus.
Some of the children were as young as seven and had no way of contacting their parents to collect them.
Thankfully, high school students on the bus, as well as passing policeman, assisted the younger children.
Mother Sandra Barber, whose children Luke, 7, and Jessica, 11, were on the bus, said that the event was “horrifying.”
“When I got to the police station my son got very upset when he saw me. It hit my daughter later. She got very upset.
“The bus was late, then it went a different way and the kids started getting worried.
Busways Transport has apparently not explained the situation to parents, although they say the driver had been counselled.”Miscommunication” was said to be behind the drama. You think?
the driver was “COUNSELLED”???? for??? take that driver to jail for child endangerment, child neglect… I dont care how late he was, the other children would have waited and/or been placed on other buses. You never drop a kid just anywhere. What would the comment from Busways trans had Lord forbid one of those children had come up missing?? thank goodness the older children had the wits to think this is not right and got assistance!
