Kelis Claims Nas Is A Deadbeat Dad

R & B singer-songwriter Kelis, who is currently eight months pregnant, is claiming she’s broke. She and rapper Nas are divorcing and Kelis alleges Nas has not paid a dime towards baby expenses or spousal support.
Kelis filed for divorce two months ago and says Nas is not keeping up his responsibilities towards her or their unborn baby. She claims Nas has not paid any pre-natal expenses and according to her, he has more than enough money to do so.
Kelis said, “I have run out of money.” She wants Nas to pay spousal support, child support, all pregnancy-related expenses, half of the medical expenses after baby arrives, wants $US3,500 for a nanny after the baby’s birth and $US20,000 for baby-related items, such as a cot, stroller and all other necessities. Must be quite the cot and stroller for twenty grand!
She added, “My survival is based on [Nas'] will at this time. If he does not want to pay for an expense, it does not get paid.” Hmm, what happened to all her money??
She continued, “There were many expensive pieces [of jewellery] such as princess-cut diamond tennis bracelet that was recently appraised for $US190,000. My engagement ring is an approximately nine-caret cushion-cut diamond solitaire. I have numerous watches… such as Cartier, Rolex, Frank Muller and Chopard.”
Uh, well, had better start selling them – baby’s gonna need nappies!
Kelis says she wants to keep the same lifestyle she is accustomed to – which would be lavish. She and Nas own five homes, and wants to continue with fine-dining, first class flights and all other things that come with living the high life.
Hey, Nas definitely needs to do his part, particularly for their soon-to-be born child, but for Kelis to think she’s going to live the high life with a baby coming, ha, good luck with that. She’ll find out just how glamorous dirty nappies, baby puke and late night feedings are.
Hopefully these two can work things out so their child has everything he/she needs, including two parents who can grow up and think of baby first.
