Will we someday refer to Angelina Jolie as “Madame President?” Rumor has it that she’s looking to ditch her Hollywood career and set up shop in Washington, D.C.

Supposedly, Angie has confided in her friends that she’s seriously considering a switch from the paparazzi-infested life of a movie star, to a investigative journalist-infested life of a politician.

“Ange has admitted she’s getting bored with Hollywood. She said she’s now got her sights set on Washington,” a friend of the mother of six revealed in a chat with Britain’s Daily Express this week.

“She is passionate about people’s rights, war and justice and thinks she can get more hands-on and make even more of a difference by getting into politics. She admires Obama and thinks she could make a big difference too if she were in his position,” the pal added.”

She certainly wouldn’t be the first famous actor to use their clout to propel them into office. Both Ronald Reagan and Arnold Schwarzenegger have shown that celebrity status can translate into the political arena.

Plus, with her broad range of expeiences, from humanitarian work, to raising 6 kids (3 adopted from impoverished countries), to film making, etc., Angelina has an impressive resume to work with. Says the friend:

“I would place a huge wager on her becoming the first female president in the next 20 years. When Ange sets her mind on something, she goes all out to do it….She’s very determined and gets very stirred by her UN work. She is well respected for her humanitarian work and I’m sure she would make as many waves if she moved fully into the political world.”

Now, for the all important question: republican or democrat? Both Reagan and the Govenator made it as Republicans, and her dad Jon Voight is a staunch conservative — but I don’t really that’s her style.

Would that make Brad Pitt the First Gentleman?
