What Will Happen To Michael Jackson’s Kids?

One of the first questions that I thought of hearing that Michael Jackson had died was –what will happen to the kids? For an intents and purposes, Michael Jackson was a single parent.
Michael Jackson leaves behind 12-year old Michael Joseph Jackson, Jr., 11-year-old Paris Michael Katherine Jackson, and 7-year-old Prince “Blanket” Michael Jackson II. The mother of two of his two older children, Debbie Rowe, gave up all her parental rights when the children were born and she is not in line to take custody. There have been reports that she may get temporary custody until long-term guardians are confirmed. The youngest child “Blanket” was supposedly carried by an anonymous surrogate mother. And there have been some allegations that have arose that the children look absolutely nothing like him but Jackson had publically claimed that his sperm was used in their creation.
If the biological mothers or Jackson’s family don’t immediately come to take care of the children there’s always their godparents. Mark Lester (the star of Oliver), the godfather of one or two of the children, told MSNBC that he is ready to fulfill his godfatherly duties saying “I’m here for them 24/7, so whatever they need, they’ll get from me.” Also it is reported that Elizabeth Taylor and Macaulay Culkin are godparents to the older children as well. And Michael Jackson just happens to be the godfather to celebrity Nicole Ritchie and to Barry Gibb’s son Michael.
Similar to Michael Jackson’s “ex-wife” Lisa Marie Presley childhood, Jackson’s three children will be growing up in a microscope with the memory of their Dad – a worldwide cultural icon – always haunting them. The children have already had what I’m sure is a surreal existence. Wearing masks when in public, traveling the world, and well…having Michael Jackson as a Dad.
Who do you think the children should go to? Their biological mothers? Michael Jackson’s family? Or to the Godparents?
i think that michale jacksons brother should take care of them..if the biolagiacal mother do not step forward
I think they should go to their Godparents. I don’t really trust their biological mothers.

I understand that he had already asked Janet to care for them if something ever happended to him. And they also have a nanny thats been around a long time. So Janet and the nanny. Jermaine seems to already have a lot on his plate.

I think that Blanket should go to Michaels mom. The other 2 kids should go to there biological father.
I believe that since Michael Jackson requested that Janet takes care of his children should anything go wrong, Janet should do what Michael asked her to. That way they will be able to remember their father and know who he was.
i think that #1 all the kids should be kept together, because if they are separated, it will cause more trauma than they’ve already gone through by loosing their father. #2 i think that the jackson family should have all the kids because debbie rowe gave up custody for the two oldest, and no body knows who the mother of the 3rd child is…
Not that any opinion I or anyone else has tuly matters….I think Michaels family should have the first chance to take them and if for whatever reason they dont or cant then the godparents. I also feel the children should be kept together. When my parents passed away many years ago my brothers and I were split up. I am in touch with my older brother and love him dearly but dont know anything about my little brother. Nearing 30 I still feel pain from the split up. If the mothers signed over rights that long ago then they surely dont want them now and if they “magically” reappear than it is only for what ever financial gain they will recieve. Lets hope for the kids sake that their father is not tarnished in the news. Whether he did what he was accused of those children do not deserve remembering their father that way.

Of course they all should go with the Jackson family. I think Jermain is the most fit and that is who will get them. He also has kids their ages. No way should Debbie Row get those kids, no judge is that stupid!

MJ’s money and lawyers against Debbie Rowe…hmmm He wants to leave the country…hmmm Remember Debbie’s court request for restoration of her parental rights in 2006? Give all three children to Debbie, the natural mother of the oldest two and she should take the third to keep them all together. Simple and logical!
If Michael Jackson legally designated individuals as the Godparents of his children . . . what is the question? I mean, he has already answered that question – no one has more right to decide than Michael himself. Name ONE reason they should go to their biological mothers?? Just ONE. If I went to a sperm bank and became artificially inseminated, then proceeded to raise my children as a single parent, would the authorities be hunting down the sperm donors in the event of my death? These children probably know what Godparents are, and hopefully, if Michael made wise choices, the Godparents have nurtured appropriate relationships with each of them. It would make me ill to think that someone else could decide who would care for my children if I died, when I had already labored over every detail and finally made a decision myself. Only one issue: I, too, agree that it would be in the best interest of the children to remain together, so why not evaluate all of the Godparents, and decide who is willing and best able to give them ALL what they need . . . as a family unit?
Just read a few more posts. If Michael did, indeed, request that Janet take the children were anything to go “wrong,” that would be wonderful. If Janet wants to take this on, there would be a lot of benefits. Janet already knows fame. Surely she would never have a need or a desire to exploit the children for money (books, stories, photos). She has known her brother longer and in more facets than probably anyone else (aside from her siblings and her parents). She could give the children a sense of belonging, family, their heritage . . . she would really be able to relate to them on many levels. . . Hopefully she would allow the children to maintain relationships with their other Godparents. Is this something that Janet feels she is ready to take on?
The two older children should go to their biological mother Debbie, she’s fighting to see them for years. What makes his family more qualified to raise children then their mother.
Most of them are screw up. Janet Jackson had a drug problem, and she looks emotionally unstable, everytime she’s off tour she gains 300 pounds.
These children need a stable environment and should be given back to their mother. I hope she fights for them
The children will be loved and well taken care of by a loving family member.. michael loved his kids so much.. all of the world could surely see this. I’m sure he had thought it through taking a great deal of time to make sure he left his children in wonderful hands! Let’s all pray for his family.. he was a father, son, and baby brother. God be with his family!
My personnel feelings on the welfare of michael’s children is all 3 children should go to the jackson family as they have uncle’s, aunts and cousins to keep michaels memory going so they will never forget there dad.
Please Lord, please, give the children to the Jackson’s family, please don’t divide them, that will only bring conflict to one another once they become adults. No one deserves the kids but Micheal Jackson’s family, everyone else will fail to provide their background and history of who they really are and where they really come from. The children will be confused if they are not in a strong environment. I feel the children should go with Joe and Kathleen. If they were such bad parents when Mike was growing up, Mike would have never been so successful or so disciplined. Whatever happened in Mike’s past is the past, we all must go on. I believe the grandparents would be best, the children need roots and foundation. Everyone else would pass the kids off acting as if their in the best interest.
i think they should go to michael family house or go with janet i think that is good idea and they will been comfotable……..men i realy going to misss this guy and i cant believe that is not on this planet earth again i mean a great star is gone cant believe it.

Its really none of my business…but hey here is my two sense. I would hope Michael put people in place for this situation and I am sure it is what he thought was best. God I hope there isnt a big crapping deal because there should be no question. He was their sole parent with custody and they should be with who he named.I didnt care much for him But he was an amazing artist that cant be denied. Ho and by the way his mothers name is Katherine not Kathleen.

The biological mother has rights to her children. Sad , but the other child should be allow visitation with other sister and brother. If mother of third child does not come foreward, and there is no will, then the 3rd child will go to grandparents.

First off “Rest in Peace Michael”. I believe the reason people are appointed Godparents are for situations like this. I think that the kids should not be split up because it will only cause even more grief then happiness in the future. The godparents should sit down and deside based on the children’s needs who is best suited to care for them at their young ages.They should not go to his family memebers as they have all in their own way had serious issues.These kids are to young to have to deal with a battle now.Please do the right thing:)

i think that the children should be taken care of by the godparents as michael has requestivly chosen these people to be there for his children should anything ever happen.. they will live a lifestyle of confort and will be able to see thier family (michael jasksons family)as well as eachother.. if the children were to be taken back to thier biological mothers, the siblings will be split apart and the poor children will be living with a “stranger” as they never new this so called mother of thiers.. they will also question thier biological mother’s lack of existance during thier life spent with thier father!!
Prince Michael have a right to know who is his biological mum (the egg donner). From the time the egg was taken from me …I felt the emotional pain deep inside me….longing for my child. I prayed all these years for my son. Knowing that your child is growing without your love is a painful experience. Michael was a great dad, but now when he is not around anymore I believe mums together with Jackson’s family would be the best careers for the children. Both mothers are in Australia and so, children would be able to see each other more often and stay in touch which is very important for their development,health and happiness! Lord God will help, He has a plan for them and their future, our Wonderful Heavenly Father!

Um… i think that his kids should go ot Janet. She cant have kids of her own so i guess they should go with her.
Please try and keep in mind, that Michael own family is very toxic. Katherine and Joe Jackson are very old, these are young children. I do feel the nanny should truly stay in the picture.Why wasn’t he closer to his family… It should be a no brainer for all.. if they were that close to Michael don’t they know what was his wishes…I feel for the children and the family… but , do feel like there was a reason he had a Godfather for his chidren. I think everyone wants the best for the children(Michael) gave them a Godfather.

I believe that all three children should go to Janet, as stated in interviews from the decades it is known that both Janet and Michael shared a bond stronger than anyone else in the Jackson family. Janet has since the early 80s and still continued to be in the spotlight for her music and knows how to deal with tough situations (super bowl and Latoyas family backlash in the mid 90s) she is probably the most mature and sensable of the Jacksons and would raise these children with the values and atittudes towards life that these kids would need.

Than compare the childrens mother micheal and micheal’s father. You would see that micheals father does not have a flat nose or brown eyes. If you looked at micheals kids you would see micheal 1 has his dad’s eyes and chin, if you look at the girl you could see her curly dark hair, the youngest micheal 11 also has curly hair like Paris. If you have ever been to north africa or the middle east it is very common for kids to only look like one parent. For Debbie go to hell you sold your kids for money. You offered your womb to micheal mmmm He payed 8.5 million to make them jackson and thats what they are. Your no better than the chinese women her sold her baby for a phone. I love micheal jackson always have and i also love janet jackson not as much as micheal but she reminds me of him with her calm voice like his and big nice years. I think they belong to michel jacksons family. If i had to pick I would pick Janet because shes alot like him. godbless all the jacksons

I think that the children should stay just the way they were before – whatever is normal for them should continue. If they toured with Micheal then they should tour with his sister. And it seems like they are very close to Michaels biological parents and his siblings so this would be my first consideration. Don’t rock the boat. If the first born two children Joe and Paris, if their mother wants to play a part in their life I think she already had done that and she should leave them alone. She left them alone when he was alive so why interfere with them now. She is only after money the same reason she had the kids in the first place with Michael Jackson – money. It is the children that are important – as them who they want to live with.
I feel as if they should go by his wishes i mean i have children of my own 3 amazing children my self and i believe that his children should stay with Michael’s family from a mother’s oppion if Debbie wanted her children she would not gave them up a mothers love with her child is suppost to be a strong bond and she let that go there bond grew with thier father and that is amazing he rasied them along with his family so there for i believe they should go to his family also i think the judge should give the two children a chance to speak as who they feel most comfortable with and who they want to live with that should be entireliy up to the children i feel they have a right to speak for them selfs and i would believe they would want to be with the jackson family who adore them so much regardless of who there mother is.
