Michael Jackson was clearly a brilliant musical innovator and in no way was he conventional. I am saddened by his self-destructive traits and his curious childlike behaviour. In an effort to understand, as I want to explain his behaviour as simply that of an extremely regressed individual, I googled everything I could find on him. Searching for factual statements about actions rather than opinion. Most disturbing is the court transcripts you can find on the internet regarding gavin arvizo. There are other sexual actions towards boys, certain materials of nude prepubescent boys, reported by various sources. Now I feel a bit disturbed that I can enjoy his music while finding some of his actions inexcusable. I was hopeful of being able to find a way of rationalising his weirdness. I find slightly less ambivalence about his music, and very sad, when I think how such a cherubic boy became very much a victim of his own success.
