Sarah Palin Resigning As Alaska’s Governor!

At a press conference from her home in Wasilla, Sarah Palin announced to the world that she’s not only not seeking a second term as Alaska’s governor, but she’s set to bolt from the governor’s mansion as early as July 26th!
Why? Did the recent row with David Letterman make her and Todd want to get their family out of the public eye for a while? Did she decide to take a break and spend more time with her infant Trig? Not likely.
Most sources seem to indicate that this move is all about Sarah setting her sights on becoming the first female president of the United States.
I’m not really sure how exactly this move will help her get there, but that makes the most sense of any other explanation I can dream up.
Sarah’s definitely considered a front-runner for the Republican nomination in 2012, but isn’t she a little early? Doesn’t resigning as governor kind of make her seem like a quitter? What gives?
