Adopt A Bamboletta

There are dolls that just sit on the shelf, there are dolls that are just a temporary play thing and are destined to be landfill…and then there are the dolls that you hang onto forever. The Bamboletta dolls are the kind of doll that are to be cherished, loved and appreciated. Each and every doll is hand made, with a keen eye to details. The body of the dolls are made of cotton and are stuffed with ‘clean, carded, Canadian wool’. And it turns out that wool is naturally antibacterial! Who knew!
The doll we had the opportunity to adopt is a 15” inch gal that my daughter named Matalie, a doll with mounds of thick multi-hued hand spun wool. Her eyes and lips are simple in a wardorfian doll way with a light sun kissed blush on her cheeks and a sprinkle of freckles across the bridge of her nose. Dressed simply in an adorable dress, hand knit sweater, underwear and little felt boots, each clothing element is easy to take on and off. The doll makers at Bamboletta search out high quality and whimsical patterned fabrics such as the dress on Matalie above which features trees, leaves, mushrooms and birds. One of the most alluring features of this doll is the size, weight and overall feel of her. She’s huggable, snuggle-able and well…wonderful.
On the Bamboletta site, there is a variety of dolls that you can pick up that have been premade ($120 to $US135 for the 15”) but you also can get a customized Bamboletta (price range $US135 to $US155). The Bamboletta also come in a variety of skin tones so you can pick your own ethnicity to honor in doll form.
Check out Bamboletta right here and adopt one for your own family.
