Kyle and Jackie Off Air After Teen Radio Stunt

Radio shock-jock Kyle Sandilands has declared he is “unable to go on air” this week following last Wednesday’s incredibly ill-conceived live interrogation of a 14-year-old rape victim.
The Kyle and Jackie O radio show has been suspended indefinitely, with the station’s owners, Austereo, declaring that the program will take a break indefinitely after station executives “completed an across-the-networks review of the principals (sic) and protocols of our interaction with our audience.”
Kyle’s manager has tonight said that he has decided not to go on air for the week and that he will assess as the week unfolds.
Media pundits are calling the announcements a win for ‘people power’, with much anger at Sandilands and Austereo coming via Twitter and various blogs.
Meanwhile, the girls’ family have been interviewed by officers from the Department of Community Services and the Police are investigating the rape claim.
Kyle needs a common sense and decency implant.
