Rebecca Gayheart Takes Billie For A Checkup

Rebecca and hubby Eric Dane were spotted in Los Angeles yesterday, leaving the paediatrician’s office with two-week-old Billie Beatrice in tow.

Only two weeks after giving birth to Billie, Rebecca already looks like she’s well on her way to getting back to her thin-as-a-rail figure. Finally free of her baby bump, Rebecca’s letting Eric to the heavy lifting for a change.

On the issue of Rebecca and Eric’s naming choice, many experts – including those here at FameCrawler – have chimed in.

According to Faded Youth:

“While Billy started as a nickname for Wilhelmina, Wilma or Willa and once embodied a showgirl image, Beatrice is an age old name meaning ‘blessed’ in Latin and it’s notably made quite a comeback in recent years in the baby name world.”

Our own Sunny Chanel believes that “Billie” is part of a trend that has many celebs giving their daughters boyish names. Personally, I think it’s a tangential tribute to Michael Jackson, via the song “Billie Jean”.

Amid The Chaos: Jesse James’s Ex Wife Is Taking Care Of The Kids

Jesse James did manage to make one good call yesterday: he didn’t return to school to pick up his kids himself. The topic of scandal, rumour and the man who broke Sandra Bullock’s heart was spotted taking his kids to school earlier in the day.

Naturally, the paparazzi were all over it. But he had the good sense to not return, especially after his statement of apology was released about his “poor judgment”. Instead, his ex wife, Karla James, picked them up. She is the mother of Jesse’s older kids Chandler, 14, and Jesse Jr, 10, and she also picked up Jesse’s daughter Sunny, 6 (from his second marriage). And it was probably a long day for them all so Karla gave them a special treat and took them for ice cream. Sweets won’t heal all the pain, but it doesn’t hurt.

Uh-oh, Nadya Suleman is in trouble again. The owner of the house she bought last year is threatening to foreclose on her.

What is she going to do, where is she going to go?

Her balloon payment of $US450,000 was due on March 10 and has yet to be paid. That is not good news for her 14 kids.

Was she counting on a reality show to make her way?

I don’t even know what to say about this could-be debacle. I just feel for the kids. They are in a situation not of their making and are not being set-up for success.

I know I don’t want to watch a reality show with Nadya Suleman, but I hope she gets something. If only for the kids.

In the new interview of US magazine Self, Ellen Pompeo explains why she rushed back to work on Grey’s Anatomy just four weeks after having her daughter Stella Luna, now 6 months old.

The actress explains, “a lot of people couldn’t understand why I wouldn’t take my maternity leave. I felt like I needed to work while I had this opportunity. The writers and producers were really gracious and wrote my scenes so I could preshoot them.”

Alicia Keys – Motherhood Is In My Future

Alicia Keys is such a talented musician that it would be a shame if she didn’t have kids.

She needs to pass on her talents, though she could stand to leave her fashion sense behind. You have to admit it’s questionable, which is why she has a stylist.

Alicia opened up on the subject of kids saying there are just a couple of things she wants to do before she settles down to have kids.

“I absolutely am very interested in starting a family. It’s one of the most beautiful experiences to have in this life and I am looking forward to it when it is my time. I have a lot of things I still want to do.”

“As far as retirement goes, I just wanted to have the ability, if I choose, to be able to do so. But I feel that I am just getting started. I love acting and producing, and I am developing some ideas for TV and film, and also for Broadway. I am excited about that. I really want to create a new musical. I think it’s time.”

So what does that mean? When is she going to have kids? I’m guessing that unless it happens by accident it’s a few years off.

Jessica Alba Helping The Kids: Goes To South Africa For Education

Jessica Alba just got back from a getaway with her hubby Cash Warren. But this wasn’t some glamorous holiday in St. Barts. She went to South Africa as an advocate for the 1Goal: Education for All campaign. Its goal is to raise awareness for children across the globe to get a proper education.

Jessica said of the trip:

“I’ve had an incredible visit to South Africa, listening and learning about the fight for education for all and sharing in the world’s excitement about the upcoming World Cup. Education beats poverty, but today, 72 million children are out of school around the world.” She continued saying, “We have to change this and this year we can. Not only is this going to be a tournament to remember, the Education Summit President Zuma is planning will help ensure that the lasting legacy of this World Cup will be education for every child.”

Nice to see celebrity mums doing things for other kids besides their own!
