Not too many trends seem to never go out of style, but pigtails on little girls is certainly one of them. (On adults, well, that’s debatable.) The term “pigtails” dates back centuries and the wearing of them symbolised different things in various cultures – like whether or not a young woman was single or already spoken for. These days, they’re just good plain fun and easy for busy mums. And if pigtails are modern enough for her royalty Suri Cruise – she of the $US850 handbag and apparent lover of pigtails – then I suppose they’re good enough for the kids of mere mortals. But Suri isn’t the only one.

I have nothing to say about this photo of Hugh Jackman and daughter Ava, except for “Hugh’s hot” and “Ava’s cute.” Because let’s face it — everybody needs a little gratuitous dose of Hugh Jackman now and then, and what better time than the day before Valentine’s Day.

In addition to being very easy on the eyes, Hugh seems like a great dad. He’s always spotted out with at least one of two kids, daughter Ava or son Oscar. Also, did I mention he’s very easy on the eyes?

I would love to share a snuggle with Hugh on the beach. . . I mean he and his family are so cute. They are always so gracious with his fans.

There's pretty little Ava Jackman, daughter of Hugh and his wife Deborra-Lee, waiting for daddy to get home. Wearing a pretty pink jumper and a flower headband, Ava can't wait for Hugh to finish promoting his newest movie, "Australia."

Hugh and Deborra-Lee also have their son, Oscar, who is 8. "Australia" hits movie theatres on November 26 and costars Nicole Kidman, another Famecrawler fave.
