I think there is some kind of law in place that Aussies Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban have to put a pair of the Australian born Ugg boots on their daughter, Sunday. It’s a point of national pride, right? Here Keith Urban was spotted carrying their 16-month-old daughter while she donned a pair of classic suede boots in sand available, um, at all good shoe shops – and some of the crappier ones, too!

Not so great in the sizzling summer we’re all set to have – but maybe now’s the time to get them, when there isn’t a rush on them. Like there is in autumn. Maybe?

Kidman recently told British GQ that she’s “explored obsession. I’ve explored loss and love in terms of being in a grief-stricken place, I’ve explored strange sexual fetish stuff… I’ve explored the mundane aspect of marriage, and monogamy.” But now the Aussie actress is saying she was talking about her film work.

“That’s what I said in relation to my work,” she said. “They left that part out. In terms of my work, yeah, I’m interested in exploring love, and so that comes in all different forms.

“And that’s what I want to do in terms of my private life, I’d never reveal what I’ve explored in my private life.”

I wonder what the reason is for the backtracking? I’m thinking she might have been a bit uncomfortable knowing those comments were out there for her kids to read – no kid wants to picture mummy dressed in vinyl and swinging from a trapeze. Although, they could just watch Moulin Rouge for an eyeful of that…

The legendary Oak Room at the Plaza Hotel in New York City, that’s where. The family was snapped leaving the restaurant. The Oak Room specialises in seafood with items like a Mini Lobster Taco ($18) and a Dover Sole ($58) but also have meatier options like a Dry Aged New York Strip ($38) or their house burger ($22). But do they have a kid’s menu? I doubt it. But there is spaghetti on the menu so at least a kid-friendly favourite is represented.

And is it just us – or, indeed, just these pix – but does Keith Urban look a little bit like Tom Cruise? Just a teeensy bit? Yeah, we thought so, too…

The dress she wore to the CMAs surprised everyone. There were even comments like “Nicole showed off the figure no one knew she had.”

How did no one know she had this figure? She’s just a tiny little thing, how could she not have a little bit of curvature?

I have to say that I’m glad to see Sunday dressed warmly. She has on little UGGs and looks like she has more clothes on than Nicole.

The two braved the chilly New York City drizzle and went out for a bit. Sunday certainly is getting big, next Kidman will have to get someone to carry her too!

The film is ‘The Danish Girl’ which is based on the true tale of the first post-operative transsexual when the artist Greta Wegener convinced her husband Einar to dress as a woman as she posed for her portraits. Eventually Einar underwent a sex change operation in 1931.

Kidman said of choice of roles that, “In the end I hope my life will be a mix of extreme love and bold artistic choices. I’ve never wanted to be safe. I’ve never chosen safe relationships. And I’ve never chosen safe films.”

Nicole stars in the movie version of the musical Nine. She stars with Judi Dench, Penelope Cruz, Marion Cotillard, Sophia Loren and Kate Hudson.

‘I’d just given birth, so I was like “OK, I’m [still] a woman – I want to do this film. And I do have a life other than simply feeding this baby”,’ she said.

‘I think when you give birth you get itchy to get back to work and you want to feel life still goes on.”

She spoke to congress during the “International Violence Against Women: Stories and Solutions” hearing in Washington D.C. on Tuesday.

She told Congress: “Violence against women is not prosecuted because it is not a top government and urgent social priority. We can change this, [they] need and deserve our support. Not with a box of Band-Aids but with a comprehensive, well-funded approach that acknowledges that women’s rights are human rights.”

I agree. As a once battered woman, I think it’s important that there be some sort of change. I hope she is able to teach Sunday Rose to be a strong girl that will stand up for herself.
