Kidman recently told British GQ that she’s “explored obsession. I’ve explored loss and love in terms of being in a grief-stricken place, I’ve explored strange sexual fetish stuff… I’ve explored the mundane aspect of marriage, and monogamy.” But now the Aussie actress is saying she was talking about her film work.

“That’s what I said in relation to my work,” she said. “They left that part out. In terms of my work, yeah, I’m interested in exploring love, and so that comes in all different forms.

“And that’s what I want to do in terms of my private life, I’d never reveal what I’ve explored in my private life.”

I wonder what the reason is for the backtracking? I’m thinking she might have been a bit uncomfortable knowing those comments were out there for her kids to read – no kid wants to picture mummy dressed in vinyl and swinging from a trapeze. Although, they could just watch Moulin Rouge for an eyeful of that…

That’s how much Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes plonked down for their new New York home located at 42nd Avenue and West 12th Street in Greenwich Village. The house is certainly roomy boasting 8,100 square feet over six, yes, six floors.

I know we all want her to put a jacket on her daughter, because we see her over and over again in short sleeves with a blanket wrapped around her or in some other skimpy attire. I mean, remember, it is late autumn in the US.

In many pictures of Katie she is wearing this big bulky coat. I think perhaps she wraps it around her because it gives her comfort and gives her a sense of security. I know she has shorts on, but if the way the others around her are dressed is any indication she could have thrown on a pair of trackie daks or something.

What on earth could she possibly be so insecure about?

My sister has the same kind of relationship with her jacket which is exactly what I thought of when I saw this picture.

She even talked about the diaries she kept while she was married to Tom Cruise. Sadly she doesn’t have them anymore, but what a good read those would have been.

She said she burned the diaries when she married Keith Urban and will never talk about what was in them. I wonder if she let Keith read them…

Oh well, I guess we’ll be wondering about it forever.

In his new book, Blown for Good, former Scientologist Marc Headley claims that Tom Cruise was his mentor during “upper indoctrination” training. Now really, who signs up for “indoctrination” lessons? That sounds like brainwashing to me.

Anyway, during the training Tom ordered Marc to bark commands at bottles, books and door knobs. From Radar:

“It was supposed to rehabilitate your ability to control things,” explained Headley. “And to be controlled.”

He said he was appointed for the assignment as Cruise’s apprentice because he was young and inexperienced.

“It couldn’t be someone who might run off the next day and tell the National Enquirer that Tom Cruise was telling me to talk to a bottle for the last three weeks.”

Every once in a while, I like to poke fun at the Church of Scientology, but I rarely feel that its practices are dangerous — unless they prevent your son from getting proper medical treatment.

Still, it strikes me as odd to think that Tom might be training Suri (and maybe Katie too) by making her “bark” commands at inanimate objects. That would just confuse her and make her think daddy’s crazy. Or maybe she thinks it’s normal…
